History and Mission
St Joseph's School, originally called Holy Rosary Academy, was founded in 1885 by the Dominican Sisters of Edmonds. The present building opened in 1923 as St Joseph's School. We are now entering our 79th year of providing a Christian school alternative to our community for children in pre-school thru the 8th grade.
Our school's mission is to continue the teaching ministry of Jesus Christ. We promote the spiritual, intellectual, physical and emotional development of our students. We expect out students to become community leaders and to excel in their studies.
Our school serves 6 regional Catholic churches as well as several non-catholic students. We are the only Catholic school in Lewis County.
Why send your child to St. Joseph’s?
Results from our recent parent survey showed the top reasons why our parents choose St. Joseph's School
-
A strong academic base
-
Christ-centered curriculum
-
Leadership, respect, discipline and active involvement in community service
- Low student-teacher ratios
SCHOOL OFFICE CLOSED UNTIL AUGUST 23RD.
Back—to—School
School supplies have been collected at St. Joseph
and St. Mary for families who cannot afford them.
Please contact Gay Lynn at 748-4953 if you or you
know someone that needs help with school supplies.
We will be starting a list and then handing them out
to students getting ready for back to school.
Thank you to all who donated supplies. The response
was overwhelmingly tremendous. We were able to
fill 40 school box/pouches with supplies.
A Child's Prayer
M. Bentham-Edwards
God make my life a little light,
Within the world to glow;
A tiny flame that burneth bright
Wherever I may go.
God make my life a little flower,
That giveth joy to all,
Content to bloom in native bower,
Although its place be small.
God make my life a little song,
That comforteth the sad;
That helpeth others to be strong,
And makes the singer glad.
God make my life a little staff,
Whereon the weak may rest,
That so what health and strength I have
May serve my neighbors best.
